In the Brew Asia Virtual Technical Session held on Thu 7 May, Dr Christina Schönberger of the Barth Haas Hops Academy covered the effects temperature and time have on a brewers dry hopping regime.
Here's both the main presentation from Christina, followed by an attendee led Q&A.
While many brewers across the region are experiencing lockdown conditions the Brew Asia Technical Sessions are being run as a series of online webinars. Each week we shall be addressing a new topic. Look out for our next session coming up soon!

I found the webinar really helpful, especially how it explained that dry hopping timing directly affects aroma and flavor balance during brewing. When I first started learning fermentation basics, many online course takers like me struggled to understand why adding hops too early or late changes results so much. The session made the process feel clearer by showing how temperature and timing work together for better flavor extraction. It reminded me that small technical decisions can make a big difference in final outcomes.
I found the webinar recap on dry hopping timing really clear and interesting because it showed how small changes can make big differences in flavor, just like learning new skills takes time and patience. When I was swamped last semester trying to finish everything, I actually relied on expert help with online course completion to keep me focused on the parts I struggled with. That pushed me to try harder next time.
